Many of the steps of the Khasia hills on the Indo-Bangladesh border come from both sides, and at the foot of the hills are the high springs of Meghalaya, India. The main attraction of Bichanakandi is the clear water flowing over the rocks. At first glance, it would seem like a bed of rocks to you. If you put your body in the water, you will get a kind of peace. This serenity will take you to bed again and again. The combination of mountains, rivers, waterfalls and rocks is like the magic of a captivating dream. Bichanakandi is suitable for travelling all the time. But the rainy season is the ideal time to travel to Bichanakandi. The real beauty can be seen in the rainy season as there is a lot of water flowing around. The removal of stones here at times other than the rainy season causes temporary inconvenience to travel.
How to go:
If you want to go to Bichanakandi, you have to go to Sylhet first. The distance of the road from Dhaka to Sylhet is 241 km and 319 km by rail. From Dhaka’s Sayedabad bus station, buses of Sohag, Hanif, Al-Mobaraka, Shyamoli, Ena, Unique, Mamun, Saudia, Green Line, Mitali etc. leave for Sylhet. It takes 4 to 6 hours. Rent for non-AC 400 to 480 TK and AC 800 to 1200 TK. Trains like Parabat Express, Jayantika Express, Sa Pahariya Express, Udayan, Upban Express, Kalsi Express etc. leave for Sylhet from Kamalapur Railway Station. Rent varies from 80 to 1000 TK. By air, Bangladesh Biman, Jet Air, Novo Air, United Air, Regent Air and US-Bangla Biman depart daily from Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport for Sylhet. The rent usually varies from Rs 3,000 to Rs 11,000. If you want to go to Bichanakandi from Sylhet, you have to take CNG from Amberkhana CNG station in Sylhet to a place called Hadarpar. You have to come to Hadarpar and go to Bichanakandi by boat from the boat dock. Motorbikes ply from Hadarpar during the dry season.
How to go at low cost:
If you want to go to Sylhet from Dhaka at a low cost, you can choose non-AC bus or train. Bus fare is 400 TK and train fare is 80-200 TK. If you want to go to Bichanakandi from Sylhet, you have to take CNG from Amberkhana CNG station in Sylhet to a place called Hadarpar. It will cost 140 to 180 TK per person to go to Hadarpar. You have to come to Hadarpar and go to Bichanakandi by boat from the boat dock. Motorbikes ply from Hadarpar during the dry season. Motorbike rent is 50 to 60 TK per person.
How to go luxuriously:
From Dhaka to Sylhet you can go by AC bus, AC train and air if you want to go at ease. AC bus fare is 800 to 1100 TK per person. And on the train – AC berth 696 TK, AC seat 480 TK. Air fares range from Rs 3,000 to Rs 11,000. Then you can go to Hadarpar by reserving a private car from Sylhet city. In that case, the rent will be 1500-2000 TK. You can reserve a boat from Hadarpar and go to Bichanakandi. The rent will be 1200 TK.

It will cost TK 120 to TK 150 to eat unlimited rice pulses with a vegetable in the temporary food hotels in Bichanakandi. Sylhet city also has many food hotels and restaurants, where you can get good quality food for 200 TK.

There are many famous restaurants in Sylhet city. Five brothers, panshi, dining house palanquin are the most popular. These hotels have AC system. Almost all kinds of delicious and high-quality food is served here.

Return to Sylhet before evening. Stay with the locals. There are rocks around the bed and under the water so be extra careful while walking. During the rainy season, keep in mind that the speed of water flow is very high. Be careful when going into the water. It is better to rent a boat and CNG. Can prove in groups to reduce costs. Keep some essentials with you – food saline, tracking shoes, light medicine, clean water and dry food.
